Hanauma Bay

Sunday September 25th.  This Sunday we needed to spend some time relaxing: a mini vacation.  We headed over to Hanauma Bay where Joe was able to sit in the sun and read Kerouac while I did some snorkeling.  It was the perfect time to go.  The beach was scarcely populated and the water was calm.  I even saw a Day octopus.  The shave ice from Shimazu Store was especially good this week; the best ever.  Also, we just bought tickets home for Christmas!  See you in December, San Diego.

Slow Surrender

Sunday September 18th.  I'm having some serious beach withdrawals, so this coming Sunday will have to be a proper North Shore Sunday.  We spent this Sunday taking a long walk down the beach in Waikiki.  I was getting sick and Joe was sore from playing a rowdy game of kickball on Saturday.   Sunday nights are weird nights.  I still have sadness that sinks into my gut when the sun goes down on Sunday.  I have the frantic feeling that I haven't washed my P.E. clothes or finished my assignment for science class.  When does that go away?  Sunday always surrenders to Monday but it is rarely relished.  Perhaps I need a good Sunday night tradition.  This week Campfire and company came over to review the preliminary mix of their new record.  Some people have the kind of home where people congregate in the kitchen, but apparently in our home the foot of the bed is the place to be.  Oh, thats right, it's been eight months but we have a bed now.

Montreal

Thursday September 8th to Wednesday September 14th.  Work has been extra time consuming as of late.  This week I flew 4,910 miles to Montreal and back.

The Denver airport has a tornado shelter
Kansas
Super long line at customs
And then I got sent to immigration
Hotel room
Giant orange
Work
It gets cold
Various generations of mannequins
The highlight of my trip, a 2am ride on rented bikes with Jen
All of my sight seeing was done after midnight,  Saint Patrick's  Basilica

I'm also behind two shave ices, so I don't think I can remember the flavors.  AJ and Trevor were in town for work so we took them to our favorite place.

And one more thing, since I'm covering so much already, watch this video.  It's a little acoustic ditty that Nick and Joe recorded a couple of weeks ago.
