Quilting

Monday November 28th.  Vog makes me sneezy and Joe has been sick.  We had our first Thanksgiving away from family this year, but I did what I could to make a semi traditional dinner on my own for just the two of us.  This last weekend was spent mostly indoors, working on prints and this quilt.

Pictures Of Pictures

Summer.  Once I had an internship with a couple of kinda big deal photographers, you know, the kind that get paid for taking pictures of hamburgers and athletes and stuff.  I was mostly just in the way, I had no idea what I was doing, but I was good at picking up film and refilling the candy jars.  I wish I could do that one over again now; I would get more out of it.  Anyhow, one day my assignment was to take photographs of old photos and compile them into a video.  This is a little like that, but without lights and a tripod and a full studio.

The Beach...Finally

Sunday November 13th.  It had been way too long since we had gone to the beach.  In an effort to avoid APEC and all of its madness, we headed over to Kailua and spent some time on the sand.  Okay, so I get that in most of the other 49 states its actually cold, the snow and ice kind, but here on Sunday it was Hawaii cold, like 75 degrees cold, driving with the heater on cold.  I had to put on socks and a sweatshirt.  I don't know how I'll be able to deal with real cold when I'm in it again.  After the beach we had to go to Mountain Magic Shave Ice, which was quite a trek.  Thomas and Annie told us about it because they have horchata shave ice there.  While the actual ice was fantastic, the flavors were awful and neither of us ate more than a third of our shave ices.
