Makapu'u
Saturday October 15th and Sunday October 16th. On Saturday I dyed some baby clothes with my cousin Kelly and her daughter Shiloh.
On Sunday Joe and I hiked to the Makapu'u lighthouse on the far east side of the island where the landscape is very desert like. The week has been rainy so the sky was crisp and we could see a long way. When you are in the middle of the ocean you can see forever without anything getting in your sight and it feels like you can see the ocean wrap around the earth. Sometimes I just think about how far away and isolated we are and I think I love it. I think, but I'm not positive yet.

Waimanalo Country Farms
Sunday October 9th. Waimanalo is my kind of town. It feels like home. It feels like fall air, hot chocolate, and branches that are dripping with apples, but is none of this. Pretty impressive for a beach front town in Hawaii. We happened upon a pumpkin patch at Waimanalo Country Farms. I love cheesy, fun, wholesome stuff like this. There were, of course, pumpkins, but also a hayride, petting zoo (of sorts), pumpkin cannon, corn maze and delicious foods.
watermelon, peach with mojito and cherry, peach with mango

Sing-Along
Friday September 30th - Sunday October 2nd. If Joe wasn't in bands I'm not sure we would have ever made any friends. Friday his band Siblings played at Mercury to raise money for their west coast tour. Michael Keany made a video. On Saturday Campfire played a show.

Sunday we drove around Honolulu. Lately we've been listening to this song on repeat. It's good driving music (if you click the link, it's the streamed song, not the video). After meandering for a bit we found ourselves at the Hawaiian Humane Society where there was a $10 kitten clearance sale. Some deals are too good to pass up.
